Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi Mi Play at an event. The smartphone in the first in Play series and it features a water drop notch with a less powerful chipset and it’s less expensive as well than other phones in the Mi-series. The Xiaomi Mi Play parade a decent body design. The phone stands out in the Mi-series. It features a Gorilla Glass on both sides rather than plastic or metal. The smooth back edges will surely attract anyone at first sight.
Xiaomi Mi Play Specifications
The Mi Play offers a large screen display size of 5.84-inch with a notch up front. It has a small bezel and the screen has the support of a 1080 x 2280 resolution (FHD+) with a 1500:1 contrast ratio, 432 PPI, and an eye protection mode. Powering the phone is a MediaTek called the Helio P35. It has 12nm octa-core chipset clocked at 2.3GHz with a feature called CPU/GPU dual-turbo technology and its AnTuTu score places it above Snapdragon 625. The chipset is paired with a RAM of 4GB and 64GB of inbuilt storage.
On the camera department, the phone has a dual rear camera of 12MP 1.25μm primary sensor that is paired with a secondary 2MP sensor for taking depth details for bokeh images. The snapper also has an HDR, EIS, and a bunch of AI features to enhance the photos. Selfish lovers will get a single front-facing camera of an 8MP sensor with HDR, face recognition, and portrait mode and more. Fueling the Mi Play is a nonremovable battery capacity of 3,000 mAh which should be sufficient enough for daily usage.
Other features include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support (nano only), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a USB type-C port. Sadly, the Mi Play doesn’t have a MicroSD card slot and an audio jack.

The Xiaomi Mi Play will be shipped in three colors – Twilight Gold, Fantasy Blue, and Black.
The smartphone will be available in Dubai and other countries at a price of $160 which convert to 600 AED in UAE. The Xiaomi will also be giving out a 10GB data for 12 Months which worth around $120-$188 per year depending on the network. This offer is only available for those that live in China.
