In this post, we will be showing you the easy way you can use to turn on and off the 4G LTE network on your iPhone SE (2022) device. Follow the steps below to do that.

Well, the cellular data options on your iPhone might vary depending on your carrier’s network. If your carrier supports VoLTE and 4G, below is how to enable it.

switch between 3G and 4G

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options and tap Enable LTE or Settings > Mobile Data and tap Enable LTE. If your carrier support voice over LTE (VoLTE), you’ll see these options:

  • Off: Turns off LTE
  • Voice & Data: Allows voice calls and cellular-data use over LTE
  • Data Only: Allows cellular-data use, but not voice calls over LTE

However, if your carrier doesn’t support VoLTE and is a GSM carrier, you’ll see one of these options:

  • LTE or 4G: Allows cellular data use over the LTE or 4G network when available.
  • 3G: Allows cellular data use over the 3G network when available.
  • 2G: Allows cellular data use over the 2G network when available.

However, if you just want to enable 4G on your device, then you should follow this step below.

5G On: This will turn on 5G when it’s available. This will also reduce your battery life.

Allow More Data on 5G: This will enable higher data-usage features for apps and system tasks. It includes higher-quality FaceTime, high-definition content on Apple TV, Apple Music songs and videos, and iOS updates over cellular. This setting also allows apps to use more cellular data for better performance. This is mostly the default setting for most cellular networks and it uses mode data than others.

Standard: This option allows automatic updates and background tasks on cellular, and it makes use of standard settings for video and FaceTime.

Low Data Mode: This option helps reduce Wi-Fi and cellular data usage by pausing automatic updates and background tasks.

Data Roaming

Many carriers around the world support 5G roaming.  However, if your carrier doesn’t support 5G roaming, you can get cellular data through 4G or LTE networks or buy a local sim card that supports 5G.
