What does XAGT EXE do?

XAGT EXE is the name of a program that many people have been calling a virus or malware when in fact it has a legitimate purpose. To disable XAGT start by opening the Device Manager window and double-clicking the graphics controller. Select disable from the drop-down menu under driver status. Restart your computer after disabling XAGT in order to complete the changes successfully.

How do I stop the xagt.exe Process?

  1. Go to Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard.
  2. Find the process called Xagt and right-click it to bring up the context menu which includes the option End Process Tree. 
  3. Select End Process Tree in order to kill all running processes under that same folder, including xagt.exe. 
  4. Restart your computer in order for these changes to take effect. 
  5. There are programs you can download online that will stop this process as well. Keep in mind that some of them might have an additional cost so do not buy one without first reading reviews and doing research first!

Xagt.exe is not a virus, but it will load other programs on your computer that can be malware. To make sure you are safe from viruses, always use antivirus software to scan for malicious code before opening any attachments or downloading any files from the internet. Always delete spam emails because they may contain infected links. If you have this file on your computer, then there’s no need to worry since this isn’t a virus.
