The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is blessed with an impressive cameras specification. The handset features a quad rear cameras of 12 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.76″, 1.8µm, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS + 64 MP, f/2.0, 29mm (telephoto), 1/1.72″, 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS, 1.1x optical zoom, 3x hybrid zoom + 12 MP, f/2.2, 13mm, 120˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.55″ 1.4µm, Super Steady video + 0.3 MP, TOF 3D, f/1.0, (depth). Having seen some of the Samsung 20 camera quality, we will then be looking at the device camera settings that you can use to get the best when taking photos or recording videos as well.

1: From your device home screen, tap the Camera icon or swipe up from the center of the display then tap Camera.

2. For general camera settings, tap the Settings icon.

3. From the camera screen, swipe left or right to cycle through the available options

Settings

Step 1: To access the settings, tap on Settings.

Step 2: Select an option:

    • General Settings
    • Shooting Modes.

Shooting Modes

    • Tap an option to turn on  or off :
      • Voice commands
      • Floating Shutter button
      • Show palm.

General Settings

Tap an option to turn on  or off  :

  • Scene optimizer: This is to use Bixby to automatically optimize your shots for the scene.

  • Shot suggestions: Get on-screen guides to help you line up great shots.

  • Smart selfie angle: Automatically switch to a wide-angle selfie when there are more than 2 people in the frame.

  • Scan QR codes: Automatically scan QR codes that appear in your camera’s viewfinder.

  • Swipe Shutter button to edge to: Choose what happens when you swipe the Shutter button to the edge of the screen. Choose between Taking a burst shot or Create GIF.

  • Save options: Choose the format for saved pictures and whether to correct distortion when saving. You can choose between HEIF pictures, RAW copies, or Ultra wide shape correction.

  • Rear video size: Change the resolution for videos taken with the rear camera. The available resolution amounts may vary depending on if you have an S20, S20+, or S20 Ultra.

    Front video size: You can use this option to change the resolution for videos taken with the front camera.

    Advanced recording options: In this option, you can select High-efficiency video (HEVC), HDR10+, or Zoom-in mic. Record videos in HEVC format to save space.

    Video stabilization: This helps you to stabilize videos so they aren’t as shaky.

    Auto HDR: This makes your pictures pop by capturing more detail in the bright and dark environment.

    Selfie tone: You can use this to add warm or cool tint to your selfies.

    Tracking auto-focus: This is to keep the camera focused on the selected subject even if they move.

    Pictures as previewed: This is to save selfies as they appear in the preview without flipping them.

    Grid lines: This is the option to display grid lines in the camera’s viewfinder.

    Location tags: you can use this option to add tags to your pictures and videos so you can see where they were taken. However, the date and time stamps aren’t shown on the image or video. To see the location information, you will have to open the Gallery app, select the picture or video, and then swipe up the picture or video to see its details, such as the location tags.

    Shooting methods: This controls both the Volume key function, floating Shutter button, and how you take pictures.

    Storage location: You can use this option to choose between Internal storage or an SD card. This option only appear when you have SDcard inserted on your device.

    Shutter sound: You can use this option to enable or disable a shutter sound when you want to take pictures.

    Reset settings: To put the camera’s settings back to their defaults.

  • Resolution
  • Rear video size:
    • 16:9 (3840×2160)
    • 16:9 (1920×1080)
    • Full (2400×1080)
    • 1:1 (1440×1440)
  • Front video size:
    • 16:9 (3840×2160)
    • 16:9 (1920×1080)
    • Full (2400×1080)
    • 1:1 (1440×1440)

Flash

To turn on or off the flash when taking pictures,

Step 1: Tap the Flash icon.

Step 2: Now select an option:

  • On
  • Off
  • Auto

Camera Effects

On the camera effects, you can add the following settings.

Step 1: Tap the Effects icon.

Step 2: Swipe left to choose a preset effect (e.g., Warm, Cool, Lolli, etc.)

Motion Picture.

Tap the Motion Picture icon  to turn on or off.

Scene Optimizer

As for this setting:

Tap the Scene optimizer icon to turn on or off.

ZOOM

Tap the Zoom icon to change between Ultra wide-angle  and Wide-angle 

Camera mode

On the camera mode, you can swipe left or right to select an option:

  • Single Take: Capture multiple photos and videos with a single press of the shutter button.
  • Photo: Capture a picture using your Samsung S21 5G / Samsung S21+ 5G / Samsung S21 Ultra 5G camera.
  • Video: Capture a video using your Samsung S21 5G / Samsung S21+ 5G / Samsung S21 Ultra 5G camera.
  • Pro: Manually adjust the ISO sensitivity, exposure value, white balance, and color tone.
  • Panorama: Tap the Camera button then pan slowly in one direction.
  • Food: Optimizes images taken of food.
  • Night: Minimizes noise from dark environments to enhance the photo’s details.
  • Pro Video: Manually adjust the ISO sensitivity, Temperature, Tint, etc.
  • Super slow-mo: Captures video in super slow motion.
  • Slow motion: Captures video in slow motion.
  • Hyperlapse: Create time-lapse videos.

Switch cameras

To switch between the front and rear cameras, tap the Camera Facing icon switch_cameras_icon
