Is Samsung Galaxy A50, A50s, A51 and A51 5G waterproof and water-resistant?  Well, a friend of mine mistakenly dropped his Samsung Galaxy A50 inside water, although he quickly picks it up without delay and the phone survive. But sadly the speaker and microphone were damaged. Yes, it has happened to me. But mine, I was beaten by rain and the speaker was affected but after I dried it, it starts working.

Well, any smartphone that has waterproof always comes with an IP rating. Some packs IP67 while others have an IP68 rating. The IP68 means your device can be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

We have seen the IP68 rating on most flagship Samsung phones such as the Galaxy S series like Galaxy S10, S20, and many more. However, the Galaxy  A50 and the A51 does not come with IP67 nor IP68 rating. So automatically, they are not waterproof and water-resistant.

Don’t let anybody deceived into believing that your Galaxy A50 can survive water. Instead, try and get a waterproof case which helps in some cases in preventing any solid from getting inside your phone and causing damage.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 falls under the upper-midrange category and it has a good body design with great cameras setup. It packs an onscreen fingerprint scanner and also has a 4000 mAh battery. The inbuilt storage on the phone is 64GB and 6GB RAM and a 25 MP camera setup.

As for the Samsung Galaxy A50s, its the bigger version of the Galaxy A50 and it has a similar body design with an improved camera setup of 48 MP which can shoot 4K video quality. It also has up to 128GB of inbuilt storage.

The Galaxy A51, on the other hand, is the successor of the Galaxy A5o smartphone and it packs a smooth panel and the same 48 MP camera setup. The handset has a special version that has a 5G network and its available in good colors with a 4000 mAh battery.
