Huawei has surprised everyone with a new foldable phone at the MWC that took place in Barcelona.
Although they are not the first to launch a foldable phone. However, the Huawei Mate X is described as the best and fastest 5G network around. It beats other phones in that area and it’s currently trending as the most expensive phone around. Before we dive further, we will be looking at the Huawei Mate X design.
Huawei Mate X Design
The Huawei Mate X stylishly parades a beautiful body design that is described as Falcon Wing Design. Unlike Samsung Foldable phone, the phone comes with all the screen on its body. It has 5.4 mm thick which is thinner than the Apple iPad Pro 2018, and when folded, it is just 11 mm thick.
It weighs 295 grams. There’s no audio jack but there is a USB type-c port and you will get a side mounted fingerprint scanner which also serves as the power button.
Huawei Mate X Specs
The Huawei Mate X has a screen size of 8” screen with a 2480 x 2200 resolution and an 8:7.1 aspect ratio when unfolded with pretty thin bezels. Surprisingly it has no notch or cliff like the Samsung Galaxy Fold. When folded it transformed to a dual display phone offering .6-inch (2480 x 1148) 19.5:9 display on one side. The other side has 6.38-inch (2480 x 892) 25:9 display. The Mate X is loaded with Kirin 980 paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The dual SIM support (nano only) but only SIM 1 supports 5G. You can also swap the second SIM card for Huawei’s NM card which takes up to 256GB Max memory space.
There is three camera set-up on the back which also double as selfies camera. The camera configuration consists of a 40MP wide-angle lens, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. You can take selfies using the main display while the subject is visible in the secondary display that is facing them. The Mats X has a nonremovable battery capacity of 4,500 mAh which is been split into two. The Mate X has SupercCharge fast charging technology which supports up to 55W. Huawei claimed that the SuperCharge will allow you to power your phone from empty to 85% in just 30 minutes! The Mate X is powered by Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1.1 on top. Other features include NFC, dual-frequency GPS, Bluetooth 5.0.
Huawei Mate X Price in UAE Dubai And Release Date
The Huawei Mate X will sell at a price of €2299 (~$2607) which convert to 9,600 AED in UAE Dubai.
It will be available in the middle of 2019.
