How to undelete an app on iPhone

Accidents do happen from time to time, but sometimes they can be reversible. Such is the case of accidentally deleting an app on your iPhone.

While it isn’t exactly a general knowledge, it is very possible to “undelete” an app that has been deleted from your iPhone. In fact, there is more than one way to undeleting an app on an iPhone, and in this post, we’ll be discussing them.

Restore using Name Search

This is one of the methods you can use in getting an accidentally deleted app back unto your iPhone. You would have to head over into your App Store and simply use the Search box to search for the deleted app.

Fish out the matching result from the list you find (ensure that it is the exact same version that you accidentally deleted). When you come across the actual app you seek, just tap on it.

You’ll be shown additional information about the app. You should find a little cloud download icon on the page. Tap on that icon, and that app begins to be downloaded; you may be required to input your Apple ID in order to complete the process.

Once the process is done, you would have the app back, as well as the accompanying data (unless you have specifically deleted that).

Restore using Purchased Lists

This is another method of restoring deleted apps on your iPhone. This particular method is quite useful for when you aren’t sure of what app (or apps) got deleted.

You would rather have a look at a list showing all of the apps you’ve ever installed on your iPhone, making it easier to restore the missing ones.

Open up your App Store and choose Updates; head on over to the Purchased section (which you’d find at the bottom of the screen). While there, tap on the Not on this iPhone icon, and you would find the missing apps you’ve most probably deleted accidentally.

Simply tap on the cloud arrow icon to re-download the app (or apps), you may be required to input your Apple ID in order to complete the process.

This particular method can be employed on iOS generally: meaning you can try it out on iPhones as well as iPads and iPod Touch.
