Wondering how to split screen on your iPhone 12? Well, it’s possible with the new iOS. You can split-screen and enjoy multitasking on your iPhone just as you would on your iPad.  Although there are still no instructions from Apple on how to split screen on iOS device. But still, we will be using some method here to do that.

Split-screen can be referred to as multitasking. That is the ability to open two apps on your iPhone 12 Pro and be working on them. So you can enjoy multitasking very well when you have a split-screen on your iPhone 12 Mini. Let us now show you how to split screen on your iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Type of Split Screen or Multitasking

If you are running apps that support multitasking, then you can easily split the screen while using the app and open another app as well. There are three types of Split Screen and they include

Split View: This involve two apps appearing side-by-side. You can resize the apps by dragging the slider that appears between them.

Slide Over: In Slide Over, one app appears in a smaller floating window that you can drag to the left or right side of your screen.

Center window: Here in some apps, you can open a center window that will make you focus on that particular app and at the same time access other items like an email or a note.

How to Split Screen on iPhone 12/ 12 Mini / 12 Pro Max

With the Split Screen features, you can open multiple iPhone Apps, and below is how to do that.

Step 1: Open an App.

Step 2: Now you will need to open the second app that supports split-screen. After you have opened the app, close it right away because you will need it to appear in the toolbar.

Step 3: Next go back to the main app that you want to split the screen. If you don’t want the two apps not to appear with the same size on the screen. You will need to choose the one that has a big screen.

Step 4: Now from the bottom of the screen, slide up to see the toolbar, which has your pinned apps and recently opened windows.

Step 5: You will then need to move the app. To do that, press and hold the app then pick it up from the toolbar and move it towards the first app’s screen until a long thin rectangular box appears. You can also move the app to whichever side you want to and release it. 

That’s all. You can also use the Picture in Picture to watch videos while you use other apps on your iPhone.

There are tons of App on the Apple store that you can use to split-screen your iPhone device if you want to. So if the first method above is not working for you, then you will have to use the split-screen method which is good and effective. To do that, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Go to Apple App Store on your Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Step 2: Next, search for “Split Screen Multitasking” on the search bar Or you can install it using the link. 

Step 3: Install the app on your device and then open it and enjoy split-screen on your iPhone.
