This does not work. On Android 11 on a Samsung a01, there is no option to “format as internal memory”. Just an option to format the SD card. There’s also no option to make apps default install on the SD card either.
It appears samsung has removed the option to use an SD card as internal storage.

Sorry to hear that. Just move some of your storage on the internal storage to SDcard. Note you can not move apps only musics, videos, images and other files.

Samsung has removed this feature but there is a way to do it, it’s just not as simple as it used to be. I’ll leave you a link to a step by step video on how to use your SD card as your internal storage for your A01 and some of your apps, at least the ones that will allow it.

thanks im gonna hit that link now.
funny how im now old enough to recall the good old days of mobile phone when we put everything on sd cards (so very few years ago) because we had to. lol
part of it is apps like uber are huge (200+MB) yet for me essential and apps nowadays no longer include line of code to move to external.
anyway thanks….tried couple weeks ago and just moving photo’s did nothing really
          k thx

My A01 doesn’t have settings that the above instructions or the video cover. The phone keeps telling me memory is almost full, I only have 7 or 8 pictures saved and one short video, out of the 16 gb memory over 15gb is operating system and apps which I have several and put them to sleep and “other” which won’t open, I installed a 64gb memory card and nowhere can I follow any of these instruction to do anything with the card, the phone is barely over a year old and from Cricket which haven’t been able to help, I’m stuck on this!
