How To Merge Multiple Calls on iPhone Call Conference

Are you thinking of having more than one phone call on your iPhone? Yes, it’s possible through a call conference. It only requires you to merge the call and boom you can then have your group conversation on a phone call. We don’t want to bore you with all the details just know that the iPhone 11 can conduct a conference call with up to five different people. You can also remove an individual from the call without ending it.

Before you start the call conference, you need to make sure that your carrier support call conference and also know the limit number of calls you can merge. Sadly some carriers do not support the iPhone’s conference call feature.

How to Start a Conference Call on iPhone

To start a conference call on your iPhone may take a lot of time. However, setting it up is easy and it won’t take a lot of time. Below is a step by step guide on how to make a conference call on your iPhone.

Step 1: Call the first person you want to be in the conference call and wait for them to answer.

Step 2: When the first caller answer, you will see two rows of buttons underneath the name of the caller. Just tap the button that looks like a plus sign; it will say Add Call underneath.

Step 3: Now call the second person that you want to be in the conference call by dialing in the number or searching for them in your contacts.

Step 4: When you dial the number, your iPhone will tell you that the first caller is on Hold. Now once the second person answers the plus sign button will turn into a sign that looks like two arrows merging together. It will also say Merge Calls underneath the sign.

Step 5: Next tap the Merge Calls button.

Step 6: When they merge, the names of the contacts will be in one line and the Merge Calls button will change back to the Add Call button.

Step 7: To merge more calls, repeats steps 2-5 to add more people to your call. Once you have reached the maximum amount of people allowed, the Add Call button will not be available.

Just know that only the person who initiated the call will see the name of all those involved.

How to Add an Incoming Caller

When the conference call has already started, another person may call you and instead of you calling back, you can add them as long as you have not reached the maximum limit. Below is how to add the incoming calls.

Step 1: When the call comes in, the Hold & Accept button will appear. Tap the button.

Step 2: You should allow the call to connect and then tap the Merge Calls button.

How to Remove a Person from the Call Conference on iPhone

You don’t really have to end the whole call to remove a person from the call conference. Just follow the steps below.

Step 1: On the conference call, you will see the name of the participants appear in one line, Next to the names will be a blue lowercase i in a circle. This is the Information button.

Step 2: Tap the Information button.

Step 3: Next a new screen will appear with the individual in the call listed. Here you will see two buttons under each name.

Step 4: Tap the red End button under the name of the person who needs to leave the call.

Step 5: You can now tap the Back button at the top of the screen to return to the main screen of the call.

How to Detect a Conference call on iPhone

There is no working method to detect if you are on the call conference. However, if you think someone is calling on a conference call, end the call and call the person again. Another way to notice if someone calls you on a conference call is to pay attention and see if you will hear another voice on the call.
