How to Install Google Play Store on Huawei Mate 40 & Mate 40 Pro

The Huawei Mate 40 series are the flagship smartphone from the Chinese tech giant Huawei. The smartphones which include the Huawei Mate 40, Huawei Mate 40 Pro, Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus, and the Huawei Mate 40 Porche Design do not come with Google Play Store and Google Play Services.

This however simple means users will not be getting Google Apps such as Youtube, Playstore and even the Google Play Services installed on the phone. This is so bad that even the popular Facebook messaging apps, Whatsapps, Google Chrome browser, and even Instagram will not be available on the phone.

Nevertheless, you can still get all of these apps mentioned above on your Huawei Mate 40. In this post, we will be showing you how to install or download Google Play Store on the Huawei Mate 40 and the Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphones.

How to Install Google Play Store on Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40

This method of installing Google Play Store on Huawei Mate 40 involved the use of a virtual machine on your Huawei device which basically will put another “machine” on your device. This can be likened to acomputer virtualization software that will allow Mac users to install Windows on their PC.

To be on the safer side, make sure you have a complete backup of your files and data in case anything goes wrong.

Step 1: Open your browser on your Huawei Mate 40 and go to https://www.gsxnj.cn/index to download the virtual machine app.

Step 2: Choose the 64-bit version of the app on the left side and download it.

Step 3: Then click to install it and allow all permission.

Step 4: After that, go back to your home screen to launch the virtual machine app.

Step 5: Now tap on the first button to begin and then tap the blue button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 6: Here you will be asked to grant the app permissions, just tap the button on the right and then tap the toggle to allow it display

Step 7: Here go back to the installation and tap the button below the prompt.

Step 8: You will then be asked for permissions to access things like your location, photos, videos, audio. If you are comfortable, just give your permission and wait for the installation process to complete.

Step 9: After that, the virtual machine app will launch and you will now be on a new home screen. Here tap on the blue buttons which will introduce you to some of the app features.

Step 10: Finally, your virtual Machine app is installed. Just launched the app and tap on the gear icon to open the Settings.

Step 11: Now scroll down until you see the globe icon and tap on it to change the language.

Step 12: You can tap the button at the top, then tap the + button and add English. You can drag English to the top and make it your default language.

Step 13: After that, go back to the home screen and tap on the gear app icon.

Step 14: Now tap the second option at the top and toggle it on.

Step 15: Tap the button on the right and tap it again.

Step 16: The Virtual app will then restart and will install the Google Play Store, GMS, and the Google framework.

Step 17: Just pull up the app drawer in the virtual machine and you will see Google Play Store on your Huawei Mate 40 Pro. You can launch it, log in with your Google ID, and install other Google Apps.
