Reminders App on iPhone plays an important role in our day-to-day tasks management. However, because it has been upgraded in the iOS 15 new update, it has become a little bit difficult for many users.
If the reminders app is not working on your iPhone iOS 15, various reasons contribute to that. Without further adore, we will be showing you how to fix the reminders app not working on your iPhone.
Method 1: Check Notification Settings of Reminders App on iPhone
When you turn off the notification settings for the reminders app, this will make you stop getting reminders notifications from the app. So before anything else, you should check and make sure you have not turned off the reminders notification on your app.
Step 1: Open the Settings App and tap on Notifications.
Step 2: Now scroll down and tap on Reminders. Make sure that the Allow Notification is turned on. Also ensure that under ALERTS, everything is checked.
Step 3: Now tap on Sounds and check that any tone is set for the Reminders app.
Method 2: Restart your iPhone
Restarting your iPhone will generally fix small temporary glitches that are affecting both iPhone and iPad. It’s one of the simplest and recommended troubleshooting for any minor issues on devices.
So you need to restart your iPhone using the button on your device. Or you can go to Settings app > General > Shut Down. Then Switch on your iPhone after one minute.
Method 3: Turn Off and Then Turn ON Reminders from iCloud
Since reminders are synced via iCloud to all your Apple devices, they sometimes developed problems and stop functioning well. In a situation like this, our best bet is to turn it off and then back on from iCloud. To do this follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open Settings app > tap on your name card from a top > tap on iCloud.
Step 2: Now turn off the toggle for Reminders > Delete from My iPhone
Step 3: Turn the toggle back on after 30 seconds and let iCloud sync everything again.
Method 4: Remove Reminders App Widget
Few people have confirmed that this hack works for them, so you should give it a try.
Step 1: From the home screen, swipe right till you reach the rightmost screen. Now scroll down and from the bottom tap on Edit.
Step 2: Now on the Reminders app widget, tap on the red minus button, and then tap Remove. Tap on Done from the top.
You can now restart your iPhone and see if it fixes the reminders App not working.
Method 5: Update iOS
Let’s assume that your iPhone is still running on the old version of iOS 15. Here the best thing to do is to update your iPhone to its latest version. To do this, go to the Settings app > General > Software Update. Update your iPhone if there is any pending Updated available.
Method 6: Delete Reminders App and Reinstall It
Since the problem is still there, let’s just uninstall the reminders app by deleting it and reinstalling it again. To do this, touch and hold on to the Reminders app icon. Next, tap on Delete App > Delete.
After that, you can now restart your iPhone. Then Open App Store > tap on Search from bottom right > type ‘Reminders’ in the search box and then tap on the download button to install it.
Method 7: Reset iPhone Settings
Step 1: Open Settings app > tap on General > Reset.
Step 2: To reset all settings, Enter your iPhone passcode > Reset All Settings.
This method won’t delete any files and data on your iPhone but it will erase all Wi-Fi passwords, VPN configurations, Privacy Settings, and more. Just make sure you have the necessary backup information before resetting the settings because you will need to set it up again.
Method 8: Restore your iPhone
This is the final resolution. Restoring your iPhone will bring everything back the way it was before. This means both your reminders App and other bugs will automatically be fixed. To restore your iPhone follow the steps below.
Step 1: Connect your iPhone to the computer using the USB/Lightning cable.
Step 2: When connected, open iTunes on your computer.
Step 3: On your iOS device, press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
Step 4: Next, press and hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode screen (Connect to iTunes screen) appears.
Finally, you should follow the rest on-screen instructions to restore your device in iTunes.

January 4, 2022 at 7:49 pmI still can’t get Reminders to work on my new iPhone 13 with iOS 15 upgraded. There must be a conflict with one of my apps, because Reminders works if I wipe the phone clean. As soon as I restore a backup, though, it stops working. Not sure how to diagnose the incompatible app or setting.
