Unable to make a call conference on iPhone?

If you are unable to make a call conference on your iPhone and you are certain that the normal calls are working properly. Check out the below troubleshooting.

1: Turn off WiFi Calling

Wi-Fi Calling is a new service that provides voice calls with the help of WiFi. So it uses both the Wi-Fi network in your home and your cellular network to make the connection. While this might not sound like a big deal, with some carriers, it can interfere with the ability to make conference calls. So you need to turn it off by following the steps below.

Step 1: Go to the Settings app on your iPhone
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on the phone
Step 3: Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
Step 4: Now toggle Wi-Fi Calling On This iPhone to the Off position

2: Turn off VoLTE

This is also similar to WiFi. In this method, instead of using WiFi, VoLTE takes advantage of your cellular network for calls. So you need to turn it off as well.

Step 1: Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on Cellular
Step 3: Tap on Cellular Data Options
Step 4: Now select Voice & Data
Step 5: Finally, tap LTE, VoLTE Off

3: Update Carrier Settings

Although Apple has about 98% of the software updates on your device, carriers also have a say on update. They normally push the updates over the network and sometimes you will not even know that update is available. So you need to follow the methods below to do that.

Step 1: Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Then scroll down and tap General
Step 3: Select About.

If update is available, you will see a prompt to download the Carrier Settings. After that, just reboot your iPhone and try again.

4: Remove and re-insert your SIM card

This is another old method we normally use on fixing call issues. If you still can’t make a conference call on your iPhone go to the side of your device and remove your SIM card.
Re-insert it back and try again.

If you need more participants on-call conference you can get that but using third-party Apps. Below is the list of third-party apps you can use for calls conference including video group calls as well.

ZOOM Cloud Meetings

This is particularly the one I used on my phone and PC. The ZOOM is an interesting App that allows standard conference calls and video calls as well. One of the best features is that it allows up to 100-person meeting, right from your phone and all for free. You can join using Wi-Fi or cellular data.

FaceTime

We all know that this one to be the most popular among many. This Apple Face Time allows a user’s to make both audio and video calls with up to 32 total people. The little downside of this is that for it to work, all participants must use iOS devices which can be iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Apple Watch and Mac. This is to say those using Android and Windows will not use FaceTime.

Skype

This is another great app to make conference calls. This app has been around and it supports both Audio and video calls as well. You can also use the app to read and reply to messages. For some reason, some of this App is not available for those in UAE. If you stay in Dubai, you can check out our list of App you can use to make video calls in UAE.

Conclusion:

If after all the methods and tips above, you still experience issues with calls merging on your iPhone, you should contact your carriers directly.
