Method 1: Hard Reset Your iPhone 6

A hard reset will force your iPhone 6 to quickly restart which in most cases will fix any bug on your device software. So before anything else you should hard reset your iPhone.

Step 1: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously.
Step 2: Release both buttons when the Apple logo appears on your screen.

If you have an iPhone 8 or any new model that run on iOS 12 then you should follow the steps below to reset or force a restart.

Step 1: Press and release the volume up button.
Step 2: Press and release the volume down button.
Step 3: Then press and hold the side button until the screen turns off and then turns back on.
Step 3: Release the side button when the Apple logo appears.

For iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button simultaneously
Step 2: Keep holding both buttons until the screen turn black and Apple logo appear.

Method 2: Clean Out Your Charging Port

Dust or any other debris might be the cause. So you should try cleaning the charging port and see if it works. You should use an anti-static brush or an unused toothbrush to do the cleaning. Gently brush back and forth to loosen and remove any dust or debris on the Port.

Method 3: Try A Different Lightning Cable

If your iPhone is charging and the percentage isn’t moving, try a different charging cable.
You can borrow from a friend who has an iPhone and sees if it’s charging your device well or better still you can get a new one from the market. You should also try a different charging method. Try powering the iPhone with a laptop or car charger.

Method 4: Put Your iPhone In DFU Mode

The Device Firmware Update (DFU) is the final solution. This is the most in-depth restore you can do on your iPhone. Before you do that, make sure you backup your iPhone such as contact and other important files as well. Below is how you put iPhone 6 in DFU mode.

Step 1: Plug your device into your computer and open iTunes
Step 2: Press and hold the Sleep / Wake Button and Home Button
Step 3: Release the Sleep / Wake Button after 8 seconds and continue to hold the Home Button until it says “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.”
Step 4: Release the home button, now your iPhone display will be black if you have successfully entered DFU mode.
Step 5: Finally, you can now restore your iPhone using iTunes.
