Force Restart your iPhone 14 Pro Max

If the phone is overheating, try to force restart it. This can be done by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. After a few seconds, release both buttons and see if this solves your problem.

If you are able to force restart your device, it may help resolve any apps that might be causing overheating issues. As an additional step, try to limit the amount of screen time on your device. It’s also recommended to keep your phone in cool places such as in a room with air conditioning or in a refrigerator when possible.

Keep your device charged so that it does not run out of power during use. Also, make sure that there isn’t anything blocking the vents on the back of your phone which could cause it to overheat. Additionally, ensure that no water has seeped into your device from rain or liquids spilled onto it.

The warranty will likely be voided if this happens. The best way to avoid these types of situations is by using a protective case for your device. The Otterbox Defender Series comes highly rated and will offer protection against most accidents, including liquid spills and drops.

Stop Resource Hungry Apps

A great way to prevent your phone from overheating is to stop resource-hungry apps.

You can do this by going into your settings, tapping cellular, and then turning off the feature that lets apps use cellular data. This will help reduce the number of processes running in the background.

Turning down your screen brightness can also help. You’ll be able to find this setting in the Control Center on iOS or by going into Settings and touching Display & Brightness.

It’s worth noting that lowering the brightness will lower the amount of power needed to display a bright image so you may notice a significant difference in battery life with this adjustment. Finally, if none of these changes have helped you resolve your issue with excessive heat on your device, it might just be time for a new battery. The Apple Store has batteries available for purchase at any one of their retail stores or online. If you’re still experiencing issues after replacing the battery, contact Apple Support.

Clean your phone

Overheating can be caused by a number of things, but it is usually the result of a build-up of dust and grime on the phone’s internal components. If you want to keep your iPhone running at peak performance, then you should clean it out every once in a while.

The best way to do this is by using compressed air cans or cotton swabs. Make sure you go around the edges and corners of your device as well as the surface where all the ports are located. You might also find that dirt has accumulated on top of some cooling vents. Simply remove any debris that has been collected there with a cotton swap.

Be careful not to use anything sharp because you don’t want to scratch up any sensitive surfaces on your device. Once you’ve cleaned everything up, turn off the device and let it sit for an hour. Then turn it back on again and see if the problem persists.

Disable Raise to Wake

Raise to Wake is a new feature in iOS 11 that makes the screen light up every time you raise your phone. It’s a great new feature, but it can also be a nuisance when you’re trying to save battery and/or keep your phone face down on the table while taking an important call. Thankfully, it’s very easy to disable Raise to Wake.

Just go into Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock and set it to Never. You’ll still have access to your notifications by pulling them down from the top of the screen or using 3D Touch on any notification banner. In addition, disabling Raise to Wake will help with overheating because the screen won’t need to light up as often.

There are two ways to fix this issue: either install a heat shield case or use an app like Battery Doctor (iOS) which has settings for limiting CPU power usage based on certain environmental conditions.

Turn off Background App Refresh

Background App Refresh is a new feature in iOS 11 that saves battery life by not letting apps run in the background. However, it has been known to cause overheating issues. Here’s how to turn off Background App Refresh:

  1. Go to Settings and tap on Battery
  2. Tap Background App Refresh
  3. Turn Background App Refresh off for all apps except those you use while you’re actively using your device. Keep an eye on your battery usage under the Usage setting to see if this fixes any of the problems you were experiencing with overheating. You may need to restart your device after turning off Background App Refresh.

If you are still having trouble with overheating, try adjusting the screen brightness and make sure that other apps are updating frequently so they don’t take up too much power.

If It Still Doesn’t Work, Get Help From Apple

If you are still having issues with overheating, try turning off the device and letting it cool down for a few minutes before you use it again.
