Method 1: Dial *#31#

One of the easiest ways to fix call failed on iPhone is to dial *#31#.

Method 2: Turn Off and On Airplane Mode

This method is even recommended by Apple. All you have to do is to open the Settings app and tap on the icon for Airplane Mode to enable it. After 30 seconds, tap on it again to disable it. Now try to make the call again and see if it works.

Method 3: Restart iPhone

If the above method failed to fix the problem, the gives this one a try.  Restarting your iPhone oftentimes fixed some minor issues.  To do that, open the Settings app and tap on General. Next select Shut-Down.  Wait for some minutes and turn your iPhone on again.

Method 4: Remove & Reinsert iPhone’s SIM Card

You can locate the SIM card slot on the right side of your iPhone. Just use an ejector tool or a pin to remove the SIM card carefully.  Now slowly rub it on a soft dry cloth and insert it back.

Method 5: Reset Network Settings on iPhone

It’s high time to give this one a try. Sometimes this may be from the network and the best way to fix call failed on any iPhone is to reset the Network. Doing so won’t delete your data and files, however, saved Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth devices, VPN configurations will be deleted.

To perform a network reset on any iPhone, go to the Settings app >, General > Reset. Now click on Reset Network Settings > Enter your iPhone passcode and confirm.

Method 6: Reset All Settings

If the problem continues, then it’s time to reset the All Settings. Following the above method, just choose Reset All Settings.  Doing so will erase or return to default.

This means your keyboard settings, Home Screen layout, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VPN, Location Settings, and more will be deleted. But it won’t delete any of your data like photos, videos, apps, music, etc.

Method 7: Update your iPhone OS

Step 1: Go to the Settings app and tap on General.

Step 2: Tap on Software Update. Tap on download to install any pending update you see.

Method 8: Check Blocked Contacts List

If the failure to connect call happens on one particular number, then it’s time to check if you have mistakenly blocked that number on your contact.

To make sure the number is not blocked, go to the Settings app and tap on Phone. Now scroll down and tap on Blocked Contacts. Check and if the person number is listed, swipe right to left on it and tap on Unblock.

Method 9: Check if Call Forwarding is Turned On

Call forwarding can also interfere with calls and may cause calls to fail on the iPhone. To make sure nothing is wrong here, open the Settings app, and tap on Phone. Now tap on Call Forwarding. Allow it to load and if it is enabled, tap on the toggle to disable it.

Method 10: Contact Your Carrier

This is the last resolution. You need to contact your network carrier for them to help you see what’s wrong with your line. Doing so won’t cost you money. You can reach them via email, Twitter, or use their mobile app.  However, make sure there are no pending bills and that you have enough call credit on your account.
