To add a friend, the first thing is to make sure their contact is on your iPhone and then send them an invitation to share an activity with you. Remember, in other for them to share their activity with you, they need to have an Apple Watch.

Their contact needs to be on your iPhone. And if you text without adding their phone number, you won’t be able to add them and share activity.

So the easy fix is to add them as a contact by saving their name and number in your iPhone’s contacts. However, if you encounter an error with a similar text like this “There was an error sending your Activity Sharing invitation. Try sending it again.” Just tap on the Ok and re-send it again. It should go this time around.
However, if the same error appears again, try this.

  • Upgrade to the latest watchOS 5 version
  • Make sure you are on the latest iOS 13 or 14.
  • If your software is running on the latest version, unpaired the Apple Watch and iPhone and then sync them again.

After this, your friend should be able to see your invitation now on their phone.

How to Fix Unable to Remove Friend From Activity Sharing

Sometimes, you may no longer want to continue sharing your activity with your friend but still unable to remove them. If you have tried removing them and it’s not working, try the following methods below.

  • Make sure your iPhone and Appl Watch are running on the latest software.
  • Close all apps on your iPhone and then restart the device.
  • Turn off both your Apple Watch and your iPhone and then turn them on again.
  • Unpaired and Repair your Apple Watch again.

How do you do that, go to the sharing screen on your phone and then click on the friend’s name. Now make sure that the option here shows as sharing. You should see something like this “Hide my Activity” Otherwise, you may have hidden your activity. Just tap on it to start showing it again.

How to Fix Activity Sharing Showing Only Me, not My Friend

When viewing the activity, you should see your name and that of your friends on the list. However, if you see just your stats, then there is a problem somewhere. The best working solution to fix this problem is to reset your iPhone.

Before doing that, make sure you have a complete backup of your files, and then you can restore it using iCloud.

Step 1: Go to Settings > Tap your name at the top > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Backup your phone

Step 2: Next, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings

Step 3: Once the iPhone has been reset, you will set it up starting from the white hello screen.

Step 4: Now when asked if you will like to restore your phone, choose “from iCloud backup” and select the file that you just created.

It can take a while for the backup to be completed and after that, you can then start sharing your activities again on your Apple Watch.
