There are a few different ways that you can delete your text messages on your iPhone. So if you have a lot of old texts and want to start fresh, here’s how to do it!

  •  Tap Settings from the home screen of your phone.
  • Scroll down and tap Messages.
  •  Select the message thread that you want deleted and tap Delete. The conversation will be gone forever.
  •  To delete a single message without deleting the entire conversation, swipe left across the conversation in question until all messages disappear except for one individual message.

Once this is done, tap Edit at the top right corner of your screen. Then select Select All and then tap Delete at the bottom right corner of your screen. The individual message should be gone now. If not, try selecting Clear Conversation instead of just Clear Message.

If both methods don’t work, try restarting your phone and trying again later. If none of these methods work, contact Apple Support via email or by calling them directly at 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
