How To Block Unknown or Private Callers on an iPhone 6

Have you been receiving privates calls on your iPhone 6? Do you want to block that private number from calling you? We know and understand your pain. I do personally because I have been in the same shoe before.

It can be annoying especially when that private calls keep coming at the wrong time. This can even break a relationship or affect married couples. Don’t worry, below we will be showing you how to block any private numbers on your iPhone 6.

The pain in the ass is that the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 Plus doesn’t have the option to block numbers by default. Because of this, many folks have resulted in paying for third-party apps that promise to do that job. Here is some workaround on how to block private numbers on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

Be default, iPhone gives options to block all calls or private numbers that are not in your contact list. Remember, this option will prevent all incoming calls from entering your iPhone as long as they are not in your contact.

Too bad, you won’t be able to get emergency calls from family or friends that lost their device and choose to use a new number to call you.

So you will be blocking all incoming calls if you choose to go ahead with this method below. Well, to Block all private calls on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, follow the steps below…

Step 1: Go to Settings on your iPhone and click on Do Not Disturb.
Step 2: Tap on the Turn on Manual and then Allow Calls From and select Contacts
Step 3: You can still reverse this option if you want to start receiving calls from private numbers again.

Another option to block any unwanted numbers from calling your iPhone 6 is to make use of the iPhones block list. This option is not working well. Still, you should give it a try.
Go to Settings > Phone > Blocked and then add the unknown number that has been disturbing your line on the block list.

Block Private Calls on iPhone 6 And 6 Plus Using a third party Apps.

We mentioned about a third-party App at the beginning of this post. Yes, some of them work perfectly and you can use them to find hidden numbers on your iPhone 6 Plus and also block them. We recommend True caller because the apps do not only find the caller, but it also helps to detect its spam calls or robocalls

With true caller, you can block any Private Numbers and even those on your contact list. The block options work perfectly. Although the App is free on the Apple store, the Auto-update of the blocklist is a Premium feature. You don’t have to buy the premium feature now because you can still update the block list manually.

How To Block Spam Calls On iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Using Truecaller

Step 1: Tap on the profile picture at the top of the screen
Step 2: Tap on Settings
Step 3: Tap on Top spammers‘ and toggle it on. This will create a contact named “SPAM” on your phone book.

Now to block those numbers…

Go to Phonebook > SPAM > Edit > Choose “Block this caller” in the bottom.
With this above step, you should be able to block private numbers from calling you.

However, if the calls keep coming in especially from the same person but with a different number, you should change a new number. Just do away with the old number and get a new line. Now be careful and don’t spread your numbers like it’s an invitation card. Don’t use your real number on your Facebook or any social media site.
