Bixby is the Samsung intelligence assistant which was first introduced on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and is now available on all Samsung modern phones. Yes, you can interact with Bixby using your voice, text, or taps. The Bixby is integrated into the phone, which means Bixby can carry out a lot of the tasks you do on your phone.

Initially, Bixby has a dedicated button which is on the left-hand side of the phone and you can easily activate it when you press the button. Just press and hold the Bixby button to talk to Bixby in a natural way. You can ask Bixby to tell you things such as the weather, or what your next appointment is.

How to Setup & Use Bixby on Samsung S23 Plus

Step 1: Press and hold the Side key to open Bixby. Then tap Next.

Step 2: To change Bixby’s language, tap English, and then choose your desired language.

Step 3: Now sign in to your Samsung account if you have not done that already and then tap Next.

Step 4: If you want to have the Bixby shortcut added to your Home screen, or to open Bixby with a double press of the Side key, tap the options to place or remove a checkmark. Tap Done.

Step 5: If prompted, tap Next, and follow the onscreen instructions to set up Voice wake-up. When you are done, tap Done.

Note: You can skip this option if you want to set it up later. If you’ve set up Bixby Voice wake-up in the past, it may remember your voice and set it up automatically.

Step 6: To add a shortcut to the Home screen, tap Add when prompted.

Finally, you can now press and hold the Side key when you want to talk to Bixby.

How to Setup Bixby Vision on Galaxy S23 Plus

Step 1: Open the Camera app, and then tap MORE.

Step 2: Tap BIXBY VISION at the top of the screen, and then allow the different permissions.

How to Setup Bixby Reminder on Samsung S23 Plus

Bixby reminders will help you not to miss an important event.  To set up the app reminder, go to Settings, and then tap Apps. Find Reminder in the list of apps, and tap Reminder settings. Tap the switch next to Add Reminder icon. If you want to add an icon, you can use the Reminder through Bixby Voice. For example, you can say “Bixby, create a reminder about the company dinner.”

If Bixby is not responding or working on your Samsung device, this is how to fix it.

Step 1:  Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap Apps, and then swipe to and tap Bixby Voice.

Step 3: Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.

Step 4: Tap Clear data, and then tap OK.

After this, Bixby will be refreshed and ready to chat again. But you will have to perform the initial setup again.

How to Disable Bixby on Power Button

The Bixby button is placed right below the volume keys on the right side of Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Plus. It’s also a power button. Bixby can be activated by long-pressing on that button. However, if you don’t want the Bixby again, you will have to disable Bixby completely on that button.

Step 1: Swipe down on the screen to bring up the notifications menu, and then tap on the power icon on the top right side of the screen.

Step 2: You should see the power menu pop up on the screen, along with the Side Key settings selection. Just tap on it to continue.

Step 3: Now you will see settings, which include the Press and Hold options. There is also a Wake Bixby setting that’s on by default, but you can tap on the Power off menu selection instead to disable Bixby.

Bixby routine is what automatically controls the aspect of your phone. You can use this to create your own routines, like putting the phone on silent at a certain time each day.

To disable Bixby Routines, swipe up on the home screen to access your apps. Then tap Settings > Advanced features. Finally, tap the switch on Bixby Routines to turn it off.

Alternatively, you can disable specific routines rather than the whole feature, tap Bixby Routines > My routines, then use the switch next to a routine to turn it off.

Bixby Voice Recognition helps you to control your phone by speaking to it. You can use this feature and ask your phone to turn on your flashlight or text someone.

You can activate Bixby Voice when you say “Hi, Bixby.”. To Disable it, swipe up on the home screen to access your apps and tap Bixby. Then tap the hamburger menu in the top left, and the gear icon. Scroll down and tap Voice wake-up, and use the toggle to turn to Wake up with “Hi, Bixby” off.
