To date, Apple has released four versions of AirPods Pro firmware, and it each comes with its pros and cons. Below is the list of the Airpod Firmware update but we can’t mention the date they roll out. Check them out.

1. 2B584

This firmware comes out of the box with the Airpod Pro. Many users suffer from a red exclamation mark.  However, it’s regarded as the only firmware with the best noise cancellation.

2. 2B588

This is an Airpod Pro update and it comes with some goodies on the inside. At least it fixes some with Apple’s earbuds. Sadly, some users noticed the active noise cancelation wasn’t working well after the update.

3. 2C54

This particular firmware update was one of the worst as Apple quickly reacted after the update. Users experience many problems and some of them are that the active noise cancelation not working anymore.

4. 2D15

This is the recent firmware update and it was released to fix the active noise cancelation issues from 2C54. So we can call this 2020 latest Airpod Pro firmware update.

It brings back the active noise cancellation making it perfect and as good as the 2B588 firmware which is the original.

Active noise cancelation Not Working Properly: Why

Well, since the latest Airpod Firmware update makes the active noise cancellation working again.  We can’t blame Apple for that. Still, many users are also complaining that the active noise cancellation is not working perfectly like it’s was originally made.

Apple has not made any official comments concerning this. So there is only a little I can say about this.

Some of the problem users encounter on the Airpod Pro is unable to block the sound of air conditioning units, gym music, or vacuum cleaners before the update.

Nevertheless, some people don’t fancy active noise cancellation anymore. This is because it makes some feel unsettled and even gives them headaches. Sometimes this feature has even lead to dangerous accidents with people walking in front of the traffic because they were unable to hear any sound.

Other companies that produce noise cancelation headphones allow user’s to choose the level of noise cancellation they want. In the case of Apple, they only offer you a simple option to either On or Off it.

So we can likely say that Apple may have intentionally reduced the active noise cancelation for AirPods Pro.
