They use technology, especially social media, and video-conferencing, to circumvent money. The show premiered in October 2017. It’s a Netflix original series based on Chris Smith’s novel New Union.
It stars Richard Madden, Ashley Jensen, Andrew Scott, Joe Cole, Carla Juri, and others. WeCrashed also has 7.5/10 rating on IMDb. The show received rave reviews from various sources like Vanity Fair, AV Club, Deadline Hollywood and more. There are 10 episodes in this thrilling adventure that tackles important issues like the meaning of life and death.
Succession (2018-) – 8.8
A workplace drama about a family dynasty in the Murdoch media empire, Succession stars Brian Cox as Logan Roy, executive chairman of a global media company with his four children from oldest to youngest: Kieran (played by Matthew Macfadyen), Siobhan (played by Sarah Snook), Connor (Alan Ruck) and Kendall. He decides that he wants one of them to take over the company. But then there’s also his wife, who has her own ambitions for all that power.
Logan Roy (Brian Cox) is the patriarch of the wealthy Roy family and the head of the fictional tech-media firm Waystar Royco. He worries that when Logan’s health starts to go, he’ll have to decide which of his children can run the company.
Having racked up nine Emmy awards to date, the popular dark Shakespearean dramedy has shown no signs of stopping with its fourth season. Kieran Culkin (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Sarah Snook (Steve Jobs), and Jeremy Strong (The Big Short) all star in the film.
Severance (2022-) – 8.7
Set in the not-too-distant future, when technology is changing at a faster pace than ever before, self-driving cars are the norm, robots are common as pets and VR games are widespread.
Through 10 episodes that stream weekly on Yahoo Screen, the show follows 20-something Syd March (Rachel Keller) who starts working for a tech company in San Francisco called Fantasy, where she gets caught up in an otherworldly adventure.
Continuation also stars J.D. Pardo, Dylan Schmid, Dominique Tipper, Brandon Jay McLaren and Jeanette Bond; the series was created by Justin Marks (Lincoln).
Mr. Robot (2015-2019) – 8.6
This show follows a hacking group as they set out to take down one of the largest corporations in the world. If you have an interest in tech at all, this is a must-watch show. The amount of programming that goes into making the entire season is mind-boggling, and it will blow your mind if you know how computers actually work.
There are also interesting concepts about privacy which might help us make sense of our current Facebook data scandal. Mr. Robot doesn’t only focus on technology though – there’s family drama, mental health issues, drug addiction, alcoholism and so much more going on under the surface. It’s riveting stuff!
Silicon Valley (2014-2019) – 8.5
Silicon Valley is one of the most technologically ambitious series of recent years. The show portrays a fictionalized version of Silicon Valley, dramatizing its everyday work culture, gender dynamics, social rituals, lifestyle ambitions, political attitudes, ethos and aesthetic.
All the while also satirizing contemporary American society. Silicon Valley will return for its fifth season on March 25th 2019. It has become HBO’s second-longest-running comedy or drama, with only Game of Thrones surpassing it.
Halt And Catch Fire (2014-2017) – 8.4
Halt And Catch Fire is an American drama web television series created by Christopher Cantwell and Chris Rogers that aired on AMC for four seasons from June 1, 2014, until October 9, 2017. The series tells the story of a brilliant but ostracized engineer who begins working at a pioneering computer company only to find himself pitted against his former employer. Season 4 of Halt And Catch Fire was released on October 11, 2017.

StartUp (2016-2018) – 7.8
StartUp stars Martin Freeman as FBI agent Phil Christiano who joins a startup company in Miami with his partner, Elena (Olivia Alvarado), that specializes in financial fraud. The three most recent episodes show the FBI uncovering a huge cybercrime ring which may lead to some surprising revelations about another federal agency, namely the NSA. StartUp is available on Hulu.
The final episode of season 2 foreshadows a major attack on an American corporation in 2017 that also appears to be owned by E Corp, another nod at our current political climate. MR.
Maniac (2018) – 7.7
Maniac is a 2018 Netflix original series directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. The show portrays two strangers recovering from mental illness who take part in a pharmaceutical trial which soon turns into something far more sinister.
From intense hallucinations to problems of morality, Maniac will put you on the edge of your seat! Mosaic (2018) – 7.8: Mosaic tells the story of Olivia Lake, an art history professor who becomes fascinated with an unsolved murder in her small hometown.
But as she investigates the crime, she finds herself identifying with one of its young victims so deeply that it leads her down a dark path. This HBO miniseries stars Sharon Stone as Olivia Lake and Josh Lucas as Billy Chambers. It’s worth watching if you want to be totally hooked until the very end!
Devs (2020) – 7.7
Devs is an upcoming TV series that’s based on Silicon Valley. It follows the story of three coders with a tech idea, who eventually get into a bidding war between venture capitalists.
The series has been produced by Alec Berg, co-creator of HBO’s Entourage and Showtime’s Billions. In addition, showrunner Amy Aniobi has written for shows like The Good Place and Master of None.
The Dropout (2022) – 7.5
The show is the story of a fictional company, called The Dropout, who creates personalized pharmaceuticals for customers. Each episode focuses on a different customer and drug.
It will follow the trials and tribulations of starting a company from scratch, how it interacts with FDA regulations, and how difficult it can be to find investors or keep them happy. The second season will focus on an entirely new plot.
